So are you saying the Ford warranty doesn't cover you if you miss a shift? Ford sounds as bad as Nissan with the GTR.

Now we know why you don't see many newer warrenty covered mustangs at the track. They have a legitimate reason, Ford will void warrenty if any problem is suspected to be due to driving any different than a 90 y/o lady on her way to church on Sunday.

Another reason to buy GM

several year ago a guy bought a new Viper, he was taking it to the drag strip and constantly breaking rear ends, he sued Chrysler saying the car was a lemon. he won a bunch of money kept the Viper. he then went and bought a Vette, started blowing up engines, sued GM saying the car was a lemon. he won a bunch of money. the man owns a Viper and a Vette now

i read this story a few years back

Don't know why Ford wouldn't cover things like rearends and tranny's under warranty. I have more advertisement pics from Ford showing Mach's smoking the tires, and even a newer GT at the drag strip. Hell you can even get a new GT with a track pack option, and a warranty.

but you use it , you lose it (warranty). remember when the evos came out, mitsubishi gave membership to scca and if you competed they wouldnt honor warranty. my philosophy is "shit happens no matter whAt ,new or old"

Kind of like several years ago I had an NMRA race in Reynolds Georgia. There was a Ford dealer there selling the 2 door hatchback Focus with a Wilson Proflow Nitrous kit already factory installed. They were made by Steeda, Saleen, or something. But the bottle came empty, and if you broke the seal to charge it the warranty was void. Seems like loop holes like that would keep Snake Pliskin in plenty of business..

Why should warranty be responsible for driver error? That guy either mis-shifted or overrevved that motor. At a minimum, he wasn't paying attention to his gauges. If the engine let go for no other reason, then it should be covered. I would like to see in car video from the Corvette. That will tell us if the driver made an error, of if the engine simply had a sudden, catastrophic, failure. I love the way that some of the guys on here are quick to blame the car companies when something breaks and is not covered. I cannot speak for GM, but Ford's Warranty and Policy Mnual plainly states that damage caused by racing is not covered. It is up to the dealer, and-in extreme cases-Ford's field service engineers-to determine if racing caused a failure. If I mess up on the track and break my car, I would not expect it to be covered. If I break something getting on the highway, that is a different story.

You know what the big difference there is with that video, Hal? The guy didn't blow the engine up in the Mustang.

Who is the say when it breaks on a track? the owner or ford? If it has rubber in the wheel wells doesn't mean it broke there.

The z06 was made to do that, he has more than enough track experience in cars.

So if a person drag races there drag pack mustang its not covered? oxymoron there huh? or is it only on the car for sole purpose of looking pretty at a car show or mustang board bragging rights?

Me personally, I wouldn't say shit to any dealership on what happened when a vehicle breaks. Many are looking for reasons to make an extra dollar.

No but he was beating the hell out of it. A car isn't suppose to do that. Log it into the FORD database and flag it for the sole purpose it has had high RPMS, tire smoking burnouts.. I bet the motor might be hurt now without alot of airflow going across the radiator at those high rpms sitting still
