Default 5.3 Mustang Build just turned into a 6.0 Build.......

I started a thread over here about this but didn't put a lot of info and goals for the build. As Of now I'm up in the air with the Cam/Intake I'm thinking Vic Jr but not sure with the 5.3 that It will be able to turn that high to benefit so cam choice is still up in the air but it DOES have 243's so it might be able to handle the Vic Jr vs the RPM Idk I want it to run as fast as possible not to just have fancy parts that I "Think" my car needs. Here is the Car its going in

As of Now motor wise

5.3 out of a 2007 suburban
243's are going to be untouched
Cam choice (Idk)
Intake choice (GMPP v. Vic Jr. v RPM) also an idk
Going to look into the 351w headers to put on it vs the 900 Kooks.....
all in front of a TH350 with a 3800 JW Stall
Then hooking a 150 shot to it
Was reading about the igniton box and to no get the "Kit" and buy the box separate so what box should I get instead of that one?

I'm looking for the guru's of the LS platform to steer me in the right way I've seen the MS3/TH400 mustang here flirt with the 9's and I want to run some 10 second passes NA and 9 second passes on the gas so input is appreciated greatly and will be learning a lot on the way!!

Steeda outer tierods w/bump steer kit
Harwood 6 inch cowl
8 pt cage
Strange Adjustable rear shocks
8.8 with 3.73s
Weld 15 drag lites
98 GT dash and console
and 50k on the body

I'm curious as to what the car weighs and have no scale around here any fox body guys know what a pretty much gutted. No Ac No PS All tubular front suspension with Racing seats and coil over conversion might weigh?

What size headers you looking to go with? I got a set of 1 7/8 that I built for my ls/ fox swap.

I have a guy local to where I live who does stand alone harnesses for 250 bucks...... So I'm staying carb'd that being said since it's not going to be a real "Street" car

Think I'm use the MS3 like the other member......

He thinks with the Intake swap and 243's vs the heads he had I can hit 9's with the set up on the bottle so

If it aint broke.....DONT FIX IT!

that 3800 converter my dad has is in a BOP TH400 he told me it should fit in a TH350 as well but are BOP and Chevy Bolt patterns the same on the flex plate?? and will it work in there like he's telling me can't find to much on the swap......The converter is a quality piece by Johnny Winter so I know should work fine just wondering if any issues will come up

On the 5.3 you will have to elongate the converter holes a little and need auto run a spacer if its a regular sbc converter.

I'm aware of all that I was just wondering seeing its coming out of an Oldsmobile Tranny. I mean you can drill your own holes in the flexplate correct? I just found on another forum

So If thats true I won't have an issue other than the usual swap parts

They are the same converter. The only difference is the transmission case bolt pattern.

Alright now just wondering if it will be enough converter my dad said in his BBO it flashed at 4k. Another MS3/TH350 combo I seen he went 5k albeit he is going to leave off the brake. But around March I hope to have this thing done!!

So just found a deal on a 5.3 out of an 04 and 6.0 short block+ 317 Heads for 450 bucks.......

Needless to say the 6.0 is now apart of the Mustang project
