Don't know if you guys have heard about this, but Saturday at Marathon Automotive on Main St in Summerville, there's a car show. DropJaw Magazine is putting it on.

They have a SUV class that doesn't include the huge wheels, so the TBSS will be there. Then I think a bunch of us are gonna ride out to SSS.

Yeah, I gathered that from a past show of theirs I attended. But, it's in Summerville, and the weather should be nice......and I pick the TBSS up from a super duper detail courtesy of Boeing tomorrow, so I'm gonna ride up there and see what she does.

I bought a new DSLR camera a few weeks ago when the baby was born, and I haven't played with it too much yet. But believe me, I will take LOTS of pics. I have a 16 GB memory card for it, should take about 1500-2000 pics on one card......

Should draw quite a riced out truck crowd.

Man were you ever right this time! It was half-finished, half-hacked up mini trucks and those gay ass DONKs or whatever they call the Caprices on 49" wheels. All they did was blare their rattle-trap stereos all damn day.

What a lame ass show. There were three SUV's there. Me, lookin super clean, gettin lots of interest and discussion, and then the trash:

A Yukon Denali with a friggin body kit on it, had TV's in his TV's. Headrests, door panels, sun visors, rearview mirror, flip down in the back, 42" plasma hanging from rear hatch, with a wall of speakers and gator skin seats. (Of course the judge - yeah there was only one, with 3 teeth in his head - said the Denali was in the "wild" class, but apparently not). Then there was an Acura MDX stock height with 17" chrome douchebag wheels with Vogue tires (the ones with the yellow stripe). Well it had TVs on TVs too.

So.......bottom line......DROP JAW is for the stupidly modified, not for classy and tasteful. I will not attend another of their shows with the TBSS, maybe the bagged Sonoma when it's done. I can't believe there was only one judge.....how lame is that.

Hell, a 2004 Chevy SSR TOTALLY STOCK won the mid-size truck class. Really?

I'll get pics up later. I'm beat, and pissed off, so it's time to start drinking!

DROP JAW.....:gggg:

OH, Mach Killer, good to meet you man, let me know when you're ready to lower that thing and we'll get it done.

Honestly, at a car show like that...Why would you not expect it to beat your truck? Besides your truck being clean and lowered on black wheels, what visual mods do you have? Dropjaw is not like a mustang club show or any other in the area where you win based on who you know or how stock your vehicle is. When I had my red s-10 that was bagged and PAINTED it lost to several hacked up primered trucks out there because they had every base of the vehicle touched. Here is MY OPINION. A trophy is a trophy and shows like that really shouldn't matter if you get one. Its not a show on the list of well respected and sought after trophies.

Oh, the guy who had the ssr was an older gentleman with vietnam war stuff correct? He works at one of my supply houses and honestly, he brags on all the trophies he gets with his stock vehicle. Stock vehicles belong on the spectator side, not show field. Sorry, I am getting carried away. I need to stop before I piss off the mustang club guys

I agree with every one of you. Honestly, the last Drop jaw show I went to was not like this. Guess I was a little optimistic......I enjoyed myself, but the execution of the entire thing was half-assed. One judge? Really? For 80 cars? Come on....

Was a great crowd at noon. 12:30, they came in a caravan of cars......at that point I quit enjoying myself.

The flat silver fullsize chevy with the Escalade front end.....nice. All the graphics were done with a silver Sharpie marker.

It's the camera.......thing is amazing. All the photos, even the rolling shots, were done in auto mode......scary. If only I new how to take advantage of all it's "functions." One day I will.
