Got pulled in my dulley for my stock mud flaps not being long enough. They are the stock mud flaps that came on the truck from gm,lol. I told the cop they were stock from gm he said that doesn't mean they are legal. He gave me a warning for that and my tint on my windshield is 1/4 in past the asi line right on the ends. I am guessing he was hoping to find someone drinking or something not someone buckled up and polite with there family in the truck.

Was he on horseback? lol. That is a bit ridiculous, but I am sure he was trying to find other "issues".
Lisa was pulled over for not using her signal when pulling into my driveway back in 07. Then my family came out to see why there were blue lights in front of the house only to have the officer yell at them and tell them to go back inside. I have never wanted to hit a cop so bad in my life.

I am sure he was looking for other reasons. He didnt even measure them anyways. I just looked up the law and its 8inches +-4 inches so mine are actually legal.
Safety guards or flaps shall be located and suspended behind the rearmost wheels of such vehicle or if in combination behind the rearmost wheels of such combination to within eight (8) inches of the surface of the roadway. A tolerance of four (4) inches will be allowed. Safety guards or flaps shall be at least as wide as the tires they are protecting.

Damn, I would have got a ticket for sure. My Dodge dually didn't come with any mud flaps at all, I had to purchase them as an additional accessory. But yea he was trolling for something else..

What area did that happen? I had a similar issue Friday night on my way home from work. After the cop was a jerk for ten min he gave me a warning ticket for "passenger tail light being dimmer then drivers side".... They are both the same brightness.... And even if they werent is that even something you can get a ticket for?.?.
Anyway man its good to hear ya didn't have/give the cop an excuse to ticket you!

Aggravating the general public is much easier for cops to do in order to justify their existence vs. pursuing real crimes that tie them up with paperwork and litigation in the courts.
In reality, cops can only be historians when it comes to real crimes. Simply just show up after the deed has been done and write it down.
