May need a reliable window tinter

It seems as though I may have gotten scammed by the guy I paid to do my tint. He tinted my rear and side windows but they had bubbles in them and he told me he would fix it. Also he said he would tint the windshield for me but Im having a hard time getting in touch with him to finish the job.

I need recommendations on a tint installer that will do 15% on the back and sides and 35% in the front. You guys got any?

a guy from mc does all of ours. hes got good prices. just did the hummer and cleaned it up for 140. and its dark. kevin has a tint guy too i believe

I deal with Tint Works in west ashley. I have been happy with his work and I have sent 6 or 7 others to him that have been pleased as well. My truck has 20% on top of the stock tint in the back which is about 20% also, 5% on the font doors, and 27or 28% on the whole windshield with another 5% strip at the top. I have been pulled once just for the tint but the ticket was dropped when I went to court because I have a doctors note.

Diamond tint cuts all his tint with a plotter and computer program they are cut perfect everytime. Im telling you he is real good and easy to deal with but all of you can keep wasting your money everywhere else.:bigthumb:

It is hard to find a good window tinter in Charleston. I went through 10+ tinters in the 10 years I was there. I hate to stereo type them but after getting to know several you will find out why most bounce around from shop to shop and are never around long. Almost everyone I ever delt with had some sort of drug problem. I had several tinters who were really good IF you could get ahold of them to do the work. It crazy how much those guys make and most have nothing to show.

GW Window Tinting on Miles Road in Summerville. He has been there for around 20 years, same guy. I have had several vehicles done by him over the last 20 years and have never had a problem. 851-6099. :bigthumb:

I have always used GW or Marty from Mobile Tint. I would say GW is the best though.

Diamond quoted me at 220 for all but front windshield. That includes removal and re tint of sunroof. I am not really familiar with "normal" pricing here so Is that a pretty good deal? Anyone else use them and have feedback?

Considering I payed nearly $200 for a half assed shitty job (read my other thread) thats a great price.

Not bad at all. Removing tint is time consuming and you can really mess up a defroster if you don't do it properly.

Just to give you an Idea GW charged $180 for my old Rodeo, $160 for the Cobalt, $160 for the Camaro(removed tint on the hatch), and $220 for all windows on the Yukon.

Marty did my silverado for $150 all the way around.

I drive an 87 Mustang... The defroster, ash tray door, and gas/hatch release buttons in the glove compartment haven't worked since 88 ha ha.

I do like the fact that Diamond Tint has an actual location so If any issues arise down the road I don't have to hunt down some guy that sleeps in their van (been there done that wasn't fun).

The only part of the car that has tint on it right now though is the sunroof though so that's all that needs to be redone. Because its got that good ol purple haze tint that I hate.

Thanks for the info guys. I did call another place that said 160 for it but the guy sounded drunk so needless to say I don't think I will go through them...
