Pay up, Sucka! :D

I like the Video section. This seems more like a real drag race oriented forum than the other local forums (good thing).

If the guy that bought my '03 Lightning (Sandy) is here, I'd like to see that hog go down the 1/8th mile sometime.

It's a show truck now. j/k He doesn't race it, as a matter of fact, his wife drives it more than he does. It does look like new.

Glad you made it, Kiley.

Larry: I'm glad that it is owned by someone who isn't going to treat it like crap. He seemed like a cool guy.

Mike: I know our orginal deal was for 50$, but you can't fault me for trying.

You told me the name of this site a while back, but I forgot what it was called (except for the 'horsepower' part). No shiet...I was punching in all kinds of combinations like "Lowcountry Horsepower", "Charleston horsepower", "SC Horsepower" into Google, but nothing came up. I guess I could have just asked you.

It's good that there is a forum for you guys that like to race, but leave the isht-talking out of it. Personally, I like isht-talk, but I also like Lightnings, so I will visit this site every once and awhile. Maybe I will check out a lightning meet if y'all have one (not right now..it's too damn cold).

Right now the majority is Lightning owners, I'd like to see that change.(nothing against the Lightning guys)

You can come here and talk all the shit you want. Just because I usually don't; doesn't mean I don't enjoy reading it.

Maybe I'll come out to one of those Auto X's and try the lightning out. Do they have a heavy slow class?

Hey, Morey!

Mike: The Lightning would probably be in index F.

My buddy took his 4.3L Silverado 1500 out to an Autox a couple of years ago and did not come in last place. That truck weighed over 5000lbs, open diff(he was smoking one tire the whole course) had base model brakes, pencil-sized sway bars, and skinny tires. He was in F-stock.

A lightning that has better brakes, a little less weight, way more power, LSD, bigger tires, bilsteins and bigger sway bars would do alright (especially on a larger course like orangburg or BMW plant) and would not come in last. Had I had my Lightning for another month, it would have been entered in the orangburg autoX back in the summer of '05.

Would it make the fastest time of day? Never. But it would certainly give some of the bigger cars a run for their money through brute force. I'd definitely run one. If you want to bring it out, I'll toss that hog around for you!

Now on a roadcourse with more area to open it up, I've heard that lightnings do pretty good (and this was coming from E36 M3 owners).

I wouldnt mind checking out the Auto X. I doubt i would race but it would be interesting to watch. Next time theres an event post it up some of us would probably come out.

Oh yea and welcome to the board.

I might have to just come and watch. I'm planning my suspension now, and cornering is going to suffer.

No sway bar & low spring rate springs up front will just kill any cornering ability. Although it doesn't take long to change the springs out, I can have a spare set for those type events, and just put the sway bar back on.

One day I'll have an EVO something that can drag and corner with the best of em.

The next event is on the 24th of this month (Sat) in Orangeburg,
but the one after that is at the Charleston Coliseum (March 17.)

Here is the schedule:

It's good that there is a forum for you guys that like to race,

That's my favorite thing about it. It seems like a lot of the racing has died for the street car crowd. Hell.....our group of Fbods are lucky to get 3 cars to the strip now. Would be nice if it stays mostly as a racer site.

I guess the weather is playing a part in it. As long as the Isht-talking threads stay low (which I will do my best) there will be no topic for some of those poseurs to come here and flap their non-racing gums in.
