See that dealer markup err I mean limited availability charge? That was on top of the $1000 gas guzzler and $850 destnation fees.

SURPRISE SURPRISE . Got to love Palmetto, I mean er dealerships in general. That is what is BS. I am sure the owner of my company will be buying one because he has to have it like other people and won't mind paying the added charges. As long as people pay for them then the dealerships will continue to do it. If no one bought them like that then they will stop charging it

When looking for an SVT, I had to leave the Charleston area to avoid the 5K mark up. I see they are still at it..

I did find a gray Gt premium 400A w/ 6 speed manual and 3.55's at the dealership in S'vill that I liked. Been trying to find a way to get an x-pan pin.

good deal. nott o bad considering what u get.. its a lil over half the price of a zr1 lol and 25/30% less than a r35 im sure its a very cappable car.
if you could get rid of the 10k markup or cut it in half with a lil hagling or going out of town
i havnt seen any specs or what all the car can do but im sure its a nice ride and its not that pricey concidering what is out their thats a top line sports car from a manufacture.

I saw a black cs/gt at wally world in north chuck last night that was dead sexy with the special 19" wheels that they come with.
Been trying to find a way to get an x-pan pin.
I might be able to help you with that.

They are getting better in price..................my 2010 was listed at 70K when I first looked at it.....................I did not pay that of course...........But still I would have waited for the 2011 if I had a choice and known about it!!! But you only turn 50 once and thought I'd better jump on it while my wife was willing......(not so willing mind you).............But it is what it is..............errrrr..........I got what I got. I will never have that chance again..................lol.......But I still love her bigtime. :bigthumb:
PS...............But with about 2k in mods I can turn the wick up a bit! :cheers
.............But the GN is still King in my Garage......lol

True........but I'll take my 6 (GN) over your Vette (your Vette is sweet though) anyday as well I would take the lil 6 over the Shelby...................I did own a 2001 C-5Vette back when....................so I really like Vette's too. :bigthumb:

HOOAH!!!................It's still just a six cyl...........but it will suprise a few folks. I love many cars.....but I've had the GN the longest (16 years). It's just the car that I stuck with.................many more cars a lot better than mine out there, that being said.....I'm glad I stuck with it......OMG....where do the years go?......it's a classic already! :cheers

can you imagine what the cost of a gn would be these days? be lucky it was made when it was look at the price of these gt500 mustangs, lfa, z06,zr1,r35 gtr the price may have been a grib back than but imagine what it would be today.

A new model (GN/GNX) would probably need atleast what I have in mine and pushing its Boost as well, to beat the compition you mentioned.........and have a warranty to boot!!! But it is only good in the quarter....after that it would peeter because of wind resistance (the GN is a Brick) and gearing.......I don't think that GM will be making another GNX anytime soon....if they do it will probably not live up to it old reputation IMO. It would be hard to beat the ZR1 with another production can and maintain a waranty as well.

i feel ya they wouldn't be able to make it a feasible car for those who want it.. and god knows they brought the gto back out and it didn't hold a candle to the heritage of the original gto.
the performance would be stagering to say the least.. im glad they did produce them tho.. they are an iconic car to almost all performance oriented minded people
and i was very impressed how clean ur car was last year when i seen u at rice bowl.. i was telling local friends about it. keep it enjoy it and make it do the dirty.

chris, what's the blue car in town, like the top pic,
but with red stripes on the bottom.
we seen it at a stop lite, and the colors look like crayolas. really BLAH.
here's the deal: we know the GM at a big dealer (they call them 'stealers' and 'stealerships' on Harley forums)
and he said "it's just fishing...if someone will pay it, we will take it, but if you are a BUYER, and come in with the funds, and know your numbers, and push it, that will disappear"
so basically, it's a tax on stupid people who either:
-want to say "i paid $xxx for that car"
-are too dumb to know the numbers and fight for it.

I knew it was coming. That comparison of the other cars where they said the GT500 was only 49,995.00. I knew it was total BS. I like Fords, But just for that reason alone I wouldn't by one. Assholes.

It's all about supply and demand, and the Free Market that Glen Beck preaches, your not a socialist are you? ::poke:
They can ask a million dollars if they want, and if people are willing to pay it I don't blame them one bit.

As long as there are suckers out there that support that kind of pricing, the dealers (I mean stealers) will keep asking those prices.
Yep, that is free market operation pure and simple. It is all about balance. The dealers would love to get $100k for one, and the consumer would rather only pay $1k for it. Meet in the middle somewhere and the product sells.
It is about time for another stock market crash so that people hold on to their dollars even tighter. The value of a dollar goes up when people hold on to their dollars. This makes goods and services cheaper. We live in a consumer driven economy. As long as there is stupid money available, goods and services will sell for stupid high prices.

People need ethics and morals though. Im not saying someone should force them to not put a price tag on a car like that, its a free country. The business owner should have the ethics and morals to not rip an uninformed person off.

their hoping everyone is uninformed.
a sales man i know said id rather sell a car to my mother and rip her off than send her to the next guy at least im making the money.. their is no morals in those kind of people.

O.K. Let me ask this:
If you ran up on a deal, Say a car that an old lady was selling, but she had no idea what it was worth, and you knew the car was worth at least 10x the asking price. Would you inform the sweet old lady she could get way more? or Would you buy it for the asking price?
A lot of people would do the latter, but I don't think I would. I have done some stupid unmoral shit in my life, and I find that most of the time I paid for it 10 fold.
So what I'm saying is, if the salesman willingly rips off someone like that, they will pay for it. Might not be the next week, but eventually the shit will catch up with them.[/philosophical rant]

Car looks great but I hate "stealerships". I wish no one would pay that much and prices would go down. The front of that car reminds me of a GTR and the rear a Supra...am I the only one? People pay more for a Saleen or Roush and the GT500 is a much better car.

I do not understand the 10G price bump. It's not like Ford is only building a couple hundred of these cars. Give it a couple months, and the folks who shop at Palmetto are goind to be pissed, when the 'market adjustment' goes away. God, I am glad Jones doesn't do this anymore. Hell, the last car that went for over sticker, here, was the GT500KR we sold. But, at least, they only built a few hundred of that one.

That must have been a 2010 and not a 2011, because according to Muscle Mustang this month, the regular 2011 GT and GT500 doesn't have a gas guzzler tax anymore. Now I know you can't believe everything you read, and they might be screwed up, just saying. Also I wouldn't be so quick to jump on the sub vette performance, where it might not go 1g on the skid pad, they have done alot of refinement from the 2010 model to the 2011 model. I have to agree I would have to laugh at the 10k mark up also, let the stealership keep it a year or so, I bet it would drop along with the price. Years ago I spoke to a tech guy at NMRA, and he told me the cheapest place to buy Mustangs, including Roush was a place called Brandon Ford in Florida..:bigthumb:

With the 2011 on the way I bet somebody could get a decent deal on that car if the dealer wants to sell it badly enough.

Not at Palmetto. They'll probably try to call it a 1 year only model. After all, that's the only year of that body style with an iron block. :D

10k markup for a basically common car is BS! Plain and simple. Wait two months, and buy it for sticker.

When i bought my 2003 Lightning i had to go out of town to get a deal.
I got the best deal from O.C Welch when they were in Beauford, they are now in Hardeville, SC.
I bought my L for $1500.00 under invoice.
Just wait a year & the price gougers will still FU.
If Kim Wells is still ar O.C just give him a shout.
Jones was the best in charleston all the rest were like leaches. Especially Palmetto ford. They are rape artists, but apparently they keep getting suckers to pay their inflated price.
Wait till next summer & you will be able to deal. Plus if there are initial production problems they will be fixed by then.

If I purchase Ill be purchasing with an x-plan pin. In theory I should be able to go to any dealer and get the same reduced price for any GT assuming it has the same options . My only concerns are first year production issues.

You would think. But a dealership can tell you what the price is. Call different dealerships and inform them what you are doing (xplan) and give still see which one can come up with a better deal. DO not be afraid to drive or you will be destined to pay sucker price. Hell call ravenel ford even. $98 over invoice
