Depending on what rim youre going with, make sure you get the front bead locked as well. Id hate to see the front end get out of hand.

When your tire spins on the rim. Or you could just screw the wheel like everyone else.

I don't know myself. But I have been looking at them myself and dam they are expensive.

either buy new wheels without then may have to bolt new ones or buy beadlocks and know you wont have a issue. or you can send them back to them and have them done.

My self propelled lawnmower has bead locks for the plastic wheels and tires. They get traction pretty well and never spin. lol

Sheppard Race Cars does beadlocks if that's the route you decide to go.

he talked about getting new wheels all the way around with 5 lug and is prolly trying to decide on buying with our without beadlocks, the rims he has now are already drilled to be screwed

You got to get traction first to need a beadlock.:bigthumb: I would throw some screws in the wheels you have but if you want them just buy them.

Yea i was thinking about new rims and beadlocks are $200 more per wheel. Just debating on buying them with out now and maybe have to upgrade later?

If you got the spare money do it right the first time... if not then try the screws and upgrade. What wheels were you looking at getting anyway?

It will look bad ass with a paint matched beadlock

$200 more is cheap. I would get them now. What kind of wheels are they? And is that for inside and outside or just outside?

WTFWSAT

http://www.cwibeadlock.com/DragWheels.htm just the outside is beadlocked, the double beadlock is available but a little overkill for my car. Blue centers with blue beadlocks.

$200 more is cheap.

He said per wheel though. Thats $800 not very cheap. IMHO

must be building a show car/prostreet. You can't break traction on 205/55/15 cooper tires.

I was thinking about Aluma Star 2.0. But I think I will have to go with the Street Lites.

you would only do it on the rear outside

Chris could start a new trend beadlocked skinnies!!!

I don't know if this is true or not.....

but if you ask any hardcore chassis guys, they will tell you that beadlocking one side of a wheel is pointless and only for looks.

Just an FYI.

BAD BOB
11-22-2009, 09:36 PM
thats understandable bc it will still allow the inner bead to still spin some and can distort the tire. but depending on how bad it is trying to slip the one bead lock should lessen the amount of movement, and with a radial the tire has a little more structure and should benefit from the one beadlock than a slick

just be cheap and throw some screws on the back side.

BAD BOB
11-22-2009, 09:38 PM
im sure he aint wanting to do that to the new ones but maybe

WTFWSAT

It does make sense, when i screwed my welds i did both sides. When i do get new wheels i sure as hell dont want to drill them though! I could get them with out and see what they do, if they do move have beadlocks added later on.

BAD BOB

wednesday,tuesday,friday,work,saturday............ .thats what i would do. my car going 7.80s hasnt had an issue with the tires moving, and if you go with radials then they will prolly spin before the rim on the tire

i got a set of 15x10 welds that were drilled by the previous owner

and it looks like they have an allen head screw in the hole now.
tires are on, so can't tell what is going on

what is that, just a place holder?

BAD BOB

screwing the tire keeps it from rotating on the rim when you are running low pressures. if it hooks good enough and there isnt enough air pressure to keep the bead tight to the rim then it will spin a little.

yeah, i got that...

looks like they have an allen head screw in the hole now.

but i thought they had actual screw heads on them, like regular sheet metal screw.

these look like a tiny allen head or something, basically a little plug to fill the hole, and not a regular screw to stop the tire from spinning.

do they make some kind of plug?
