Gun shopping question

I have officially been bitten by the bug.

Anyone have any recommendations for a .22 pistol and rifle? Really want to get out and do some more shooting, but .40 gets expensive really, really fast. Looking for a pistol and a rifle. Won't be used for protection-that's what the Taurus is for, just want something to blow holes in targets with. Figured a .22 would be the cheapest way to go.

BB guns are cheaper and if you want to go real cheap get an airsoft gun. LOL

taurus makes a 9 shot 22 revolver,my friend bought one at Bass pro shop in MB for about $225 last year .Its a fun gun to shot paper

I got my wife a Ruger 10/22 rifle and some 25 round magazines to go with it. There is a tremendous aftermarket support for this rifle. Triggers, barrels, stocks, you name it. This gun has been around for a while and is very durable. Being a .22lr, you can afford to punch quite a few holes in stuff in a days time, especially being with it being a semi-automatic.

I got her a Ruger Mark 3 Hunter .22lr pistol, too. This is a very accurate pistol with a great trigger from the factory that is easy to shoot all day. My wife enjoys shooting it more that her XD-9. I'm kind of glad, it is much cheaper that way!

Thank you. I was actually thinking of going Ruger, but hadn't talked to anyone who had one. Funny you mentioned the XD. That will be my next "serious" pistol. Just looking for the .22's for messin around at the range. Just a good way to be there for more than an hour, without spending a mint to do it. After all, making holes in things is a great way to blow off steam.

+1 on the Ruger. That is the best .22 ever made. And you can also change it over to the .17mach2 with only a barrel and bolt kit and it will be able to make 150+ yard shots pretty easy.
