View Full Version : Wondering if anyone has this stuff kicking around

Well, I sold my engine on EBay to a douchebag and he is returning it. So, I was thinking about going "race truck" with the Bronco II. I was wondering if anyone has ant of the following stuff laying around their garage/shed/yard:
AOD core-just needs to be good enough to get it built
8.8 from an Explorer-Ratio and condition of gears not important
AOD-compatible shifter
2500-ish stall convertor (Not yours, Hal  )
Fuel system components-pump, regulator, cell
700/750 carb-as long as it's not an Edelbrock and can be rebuilt
Radiator from a 4.0l Explorer or Ranger
Electric fan/fans
Really that's what is needed to get that thing converted to real power. Well, that, and wheels/tires.
Not really looking to buy anything just yet as I will need to buy another truck first. Just wanting to see if anyone has this stuff before I have to find new parts or lay in the gravel at LKQ to pull it myself.
I can be contacted here in this thread, by pm, email at s_messenger@hotmail.com, or by phone at 815-685-5393
Thanks,
Shaun

ebays rules have changed. A buyer can change their mind if they would like and no problem, while the seller gets screwed.

That doesn't seem right at all. How long did he have it? You have to agree to that before you put the auction up? Was there anything wrong with motor?

Read ebay's rules. A buyer can change their mind and seller gets shafted. AS IS in ebay's eyes don't mean crap. Hell, you can buy a box of crayons on ebay and if you do not want them anymore within a certain time frame you can send them back and get your money back. Even if you took them out and used them. Doesn't matter anymore on ebay. SELLERS get screwed, while buyers can be con artists.

Basically, the guy claimed that I mislead him and he wasted $1500 bucks on a "used" engine. True, the rotating assembly is original, but it was inspected and new bearings and rings were installed. When I was contacted by Paypal that he would be returning the engine, I spent about 30 minutes on the phone expressing my "displeasure" with the new rules. The reason for returning an item is irrelevant-buyer's remorse is reason enough to return something to the seller. Again, the seller gets fucked in the drivethru. Of course, the guy is responsible for shipping the motor back to me (375# from Atlanta via UPS Freight-can't be cheap); and I can file an appeal once the engine is back in my possesion. He will, hopefully, be getting a tough surprise when he gets the 'bill' for the teardown, inspection, and rebuild of the engine. This must be done to be positive that all of the parts are there and still ok, as I have reason to believe that the engine has been torn down. Payback is, and will continue to be, a bitch.
Cliffs: DON"T SELL SHIT ON EBAY!

Like I told you before, who knows if he didn't just steal parts he wanted or friends wanted and is giving it back to you.

No shit
I wonder how they would get the money back; if he didn't use Paypal.

He did use Paypal. Engine was sold on EBay. I had the option to do a cash deal, but dude had a 10% coupon for Paypal. Me being the swell guy that I am, I let him go through them for payment. That'll never happen again.
Also, Mods: Could you maybe split this thread from the op, to something along the lines of "Shaun got fucked by some douchebag from ATL"?

Shaun, You sure did get screwed. There was nothing wrong with that motor. I saw it in the shop several months back. Nice port work on the iron heads as well. I think $1500 was a fair price for that engine.

Seriously, the seller and a mechanic at Jones built the motor. All with arp hardware, etc etc. Motor was hot tanked, cleaned checked and re-assembled with alot of new items.

Shaun, I don't have a need for it. It would be a good block to build a stroker out of though.
I've met the tech that helped Shaun with the build. He's knows his smack and is very particular about his work. He had to rebuild the rear-end in my E-350 work van and that is where I came to know him, and also where I got to get a good look at Shaun's motor.

But reused original crank, rods and pistons. Timing chain and cam have about 100-200 miles on them. Heads are nothing special; but heavy porting on exhaust side (not by me) There is a listing in the For sale section listing about everything. I wouldn't try to sell it quite yet, though. Got it uncrated back at work, and there is sawdust in the distributor bore. May be nothing major, but I would like to get it opened up to know for sure. It also got rained on when dude had it-another reason to make sure that everything is kosher.
