that drives to the track and change tires to slicks and run and then post times about how fast there street car is,,,
So the car that I drove everyday for the last month isn't a street car because I changed my tires at the strip? What if I drove up there on DOT approved slicks? Or if I put it on a trailer with street tires on?
I'm just trying to figure this all out. In this thread I've learned a lot. Or....been confused a lot. So does it matter that I take my car on road trips? Florida, Maryland, and PA in the year or so. With AC and all other factory equipment. But it's no longer a street car because I run on slicks and will use a trailer if available?
This shit is all pretty stupid.
I'll be the first to admit that the term "street car" doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot in this state. After all....what does it take to get a car registered here? Pay your taxes on it. That's it. No inspections, emissions, etc. But...some of the rules brought up here are just stupid.

Nah. It's solid Hugger Orange.
I had issues with the truck's brakes so I put the Camaro back into daily driver duty. It got around 16mpg around town. Just got the truck back on the road so back to weekend duty/racecar status for it now.

I seen you the other day with the t tops off. I was turning onto 52 out of woodland lakes, and you were coming from moncks corner down 52.
:bigthumb:
Against each other yea, but who has raced after all this arguing, or call outs, whatever?
I raced Wade & Jeff after a few quick posts.
I asked; they said yes. Jeff and I had to negotiate terms a little, but other than that we got the races out of the way quickly.

the only problem I have is when there is a race brewing between two people in the "budget grudge racing" then everybody else needs to stay out of the thread.
it's funny you say that because 99% the nut swinging pom pom swinging cheerleaders in this thread are talking shit about my car....
when again this mother fucking thread had nothing to do with anyone else but my car running some mercedes which i walked.

i was also spinning on that run, according to everyone at the line.... and i need an anti roll bar... i've said from the start they aren't needed period but they are my insurance.
man what fun would it be if we can't pick on you about the bars. If you start using them it would ruin all our fun, so enough about the non sense of you using the bars; it never happened. :poke:

You don't need them NOW. If that car hooks and you spray, Ill bet that you will be glad you have them then.

right now i am tweeking and changing things, thus i don't know what it will do from one pass to the next... i will eventually take them off when i have the car consistently doing what i want.

LOL, I can't run high 6's, I'm barely high 7's... but your right if I had 800 hp high 6's is all I would manage.

One of these days I'll get a car so I can race with the big dogs. Heavy Trucks are a lost cause. At least it is on my budget.

Allright. let me start out by saying. I'm NOT talking shit. Now lets be realistic.
And I know you said that you know you dont really need them. But nun the less. This has to be said. Just because they touch the ground does not mean it was put on the bars. Im sure if I put some on the chevelle I could make them touch the ground. But it damn sure doesnt need any. When I lived in greenville. I had a freind there that had a lt1 camaro. He built the car for some class that was below the 10 1/2 inch tire class. It was a small block. I think it was a 434. had a 9 inch rear. Big time nitrous car. It ran high 5's. Had stock suspension. But it didnt have wheelie bars. And he never needed them. There was another guy with a 92 formula fire bird. They were freinds. The firebird was a little faster. I did see him put on the bumper. About the same suspension set up. He changed it a little and that was it. No more bumper draging.

like i have said already some don't need them, and some people make changes that puts their car on the bumper... here are 2 examples of cars with setups similar to mine...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=4zQ7TeKoGz8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd1_ew7J7Wg
like you said, some never need it, and like i just proved, some do. the red camaro didn't lift that run because in the past he did the same thing, lifted and killed the car... and fyi he runs the same bars on his car now. i'm not willing to take the chance till the car is dialed in, i just love running the same times as all the idiots talking trash in here (or in most cases WAY faster) with my car on the EXACT setup as when we turned it over for the first time while still on the lift....

Come on. That red cam has a way bigger cam and he left on the tran brake.
And DAMN. I could have went my whole live with out watching the second one. Was that a video or a music video. If that would have been me. There is no way I would have let the regular video get out. I would have been embarassed that I let out. But noooo he was proud. Had special affects even set it to music. :hysterical: Not Making fun of you. But please dont ask me to watch anything like that.

yeah i got a trans brake on my car so it looks pretty.
i didn't make the second, the owner of the car did.... but i was proving my point. he was running high 9's low 10's when that happened.

How are you hooking on the street if your spinning at the track.

well, when i "hook" on the street it is the same as the track (spins but still a 1.5), it feels the exact same and comes up the same, i set my car up for the street not the track.

Im hoping to get a 1.3 something out of the chevelle. I got a 1.41. I think it will do it.

Well, I want a run with another 4.6, but there arent too many on here that post. I posted before for any others to see if they wanted to run, but got nothing. I know of some cobras on here, but they would have to give a lil......I might have to upgrade to a 5.4 to get a race

I agree with Paul on this. As low as That car is, it wouldn't take but once to really fuck something up. If I waited as long as he did to get to drive my car as he did I would want all the protection I could get. JMO
